SPORTING EVENTS - GET ACTIVE!

May 11 | Journeys Marathon
Journeys Marathon is a challenging and inspirational spring race that starts with the woodland backdrop of Boulder Junction, WI on rustic roads while meandering through the Northern Highland American Legion State Forest and passing many scenic northern Wisconsin lakes. This is a race not to be missed. Other races offered include a half marathon, 13.1 mile power walk, 10K and 5K.

May 18 | White Deer Triathalon
The fifth annual event, headquartered at the Boulder Junction Community Center, will consist of a 3k canoe-kayak course, 22k bike ride, and 6k run, all beginning at 9am. Phone 715-385-2400

May 31-June 1 | Birding Festival
The 15th annual Birding Festival will be at North Lakeland Discovery Center in Manitowish Waters from 8am to 4pm each day. Phone 715-543-2085

June 22 | Canoe and Kayak Race
The fifteenth annual Callie Rohr Memorial Canoe and Kayak Race will be held on the Wisconsin River, based at Rohr's Wilderness Tours of Conover, with breakfast at 8am and races at 10am. Proceeds will benefit the American Brain Tumor Association. Phone 715-547-3639

July 13 | Moonlight Run
The Pines Community Wellness Center will host a 5k run/walk through the streets of Eagle River. There will be activities downtown starting at 6pm. A 1k Sunset Run for ages 10 and younger starts at 9pm and the 5k Moonlight Run at 10pn. Phone 715-479-4473

July 20 | Don Gillum Memorial Bike Ride
The bike ride and hike will be held on the Conover-Phelps Trail, starting at the Conover Community Park at 8am. It is a benefit for the Northwoods Relay for Life and the American Cancer Society. Phone 715-545-3800

August 24 | Twin Triathalon
The fifth annual event, sponsored by the Phelps Chamber of Commerce, will take place from 8am to noon and include an 8k paddle on North Twin Lake, a 16k bike ride, and 5k run on the Vista Lake Biking Trail. Participants can register as an individual or a team. Phone 715-545-3800

September 14 | September Ride (Bikes)
Join us for one of two great rides:

  • A Trail Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Three Lakes Winery and back on the Three Eagle Trail (28 miles).
  • A 50K Northwoods Road Ride from Tribute Brewing Company to the Conover, WI area on a loop route (31 miles).

Proceeds support the Great Headwaters Trails Foundation in the development of bike trails for eastern Vilas County.

September 20 | Eagle In One Golf Outing
