What is the reservation payment schedule?

  • 25% down payment is required either online by credit card or by check (mail us or put in black Rec Building Dropbox and call 715-545-3474 to secure your reservation)
  • Another 25% is due 90 days before check in
  • Remaining 50% will be due a few days prior to check in


1. AUTO-PAYMENT: If you do nothing, your original card on file will be charged on the scheduled payment date and you will be emailed a receipt.

2. CHECK: You are always welcome and encouraged to send in a check before the scheduled due date as well - do let us know if you are so that we may keep an eye out for it and disable the auto-payment method mentioned above.

3. ALTERNATE CARD: You may use the link in the email you'll receive to pay with a different card.

Finally, if you add any "add-ons" to your reservation the deposit for those add-on's will be charged at that time with the remainder due upon the payment schedule originally set. If you need to talk through anything prior to booking, please call, text, or email us to touch base.

Is there a security deposit?

No. But the resort requires a credit card on file (no holds will be placed on the card) for the event damage is incurred during your stay. More information can be found on the rental agreement.

What is POV's policy for annual returning stays?

For guests looking to reserve for the next year's stay, POV Resort offers a 15% discount for reservations booked prior to check out. You are welcome to book a cabin online - the discount will automatically be applied. Given demand, we are not holding units without a deposit.

What are Check-In/Check-Out procedures?

Check-In and Check-Out times: Summer check-in is a firm 3pm and check-out is 9am for cabins and 3pm and 11am for campgrounds unless arranged prior with owners. The remainder of the year it is flexible with coordination with POV ownership.

Check-In Procedures: Now, more than ever, we need the time to deep clean each unit prior to check-in. If you arrive earlier you are welcome to utilize the resort’s outdoor facilities.

  • Pre-Payment of Balance Due Prior to Arrival: We are asking guests pre-pay their full amount due prior to check in to minimize contact and to maintain social distancing. You will receive a final payment email request prior to check in with a link to pay the balance due online. If you have any challenges with this process do not hesitate to email or call (715-545-3474) us - happy to work with you and help.
  • Cabin/Glamping Unit/Campsite Entry: Once full pre-payment prior to arrival is received, we invite you go straight to your lodging to begin relaxing - check in and resort information will be provided at your cabin or campsite. Check-out procedures remain the same.

Check-out Procedures: Upon departure guests are asked to leave the resort in the same general condition as it was when they arrived. Below are checkout procedures for the property:


  • Please make sure you’re settled up for any purchases at the store or outstanding tab items (ie gas) prior to departure - your credit card on file can be used and a receipt emailed if you forget
  • Wash and return all dishes to their appropriate cabinets
  • Empty out the fridge, freezer, and coffee maker
  • Please return all kitchen items to your cabin if you used them in a different cabin
  • If you checked out a Roku or kitchen appliance from the Rec, please return it to the appliance shelf or Rokus to the front desk
  • In the winter, return all thermostats to 55 degrees
  • During the summer, open all windows to air out the unit
  • Remove all trash and recycling from the cabin - there are designated dumpsters for each available on the driveway out of the property
  • Extinguish all fires and cleans trash out of fire ring
  • Lock the unit and return your key in your unit to the hook where you found it by the front door
  • Place all blue towels in the blue laundry bag provided; place all white linen sheets and duvet covers in the white laundry bag provided - leave the mattress protector pad on the bed


  • Remove all trash and recycling from the glamping unit, there are designated dumpsters for each available on the driveway out of the property
  • Extinguish all fires and cleans trash out of fire ring
  • Leave your key in your unit where you found it
  • Luxury tents please leave the power station in the unit
  • Vintage campers please turn off all electric
  • Place all sheets and duvet covers in the white laundry bag provided - leave the mattress protector pad on the bed
  • Please close up all windows and doors in case it rains later that day

Does the resort have minimum night stays?

Yes - for cabins during Low Season we have a two-night minimum stay. For cabins during Mid-Season we have a three-night minimum stay. During High Season we have a seven night minimum stay for cabins. For the campground season (May to September) we require a 2-night minimum stay. For stays less than these amounts the duration must be approved by ownership and incur an extra fee (nominal). 

Are pets allowed?

Yes - We are only a dog-friendly resort between the end of August and mid-June (not summer) - in Cabins 1, 3, 10, and 11 during that time frame. We have a $10/day per dog fee; pets must be on a leash outside cabins at all times and crated inside when left alone. NO DOGS are allowed in the campgrounds (keeping sound down), playgrounds, or the beach (for kids). Please visit our full Pet Policy by clicking here for more information.

Does the resort allow smoking?

Yes, but only outdoors. For the main cabin/resort area by the lake it is only allowed in designated areas. There is no smoking allowed in any cabins of ANY kind. Smoking is only allowed in designated areas on the property, and we kindly ask that all cigarette butts are disposed of in the trash or fire rings.

Does the resort have internet and TV?

We do have high-speed wifi available in the main area of the resort grounds around the cabins - it is spotty in the campgrounds. That being said, the resort is about relaxing and enjoying the Northwoods. The password is posted in each cabin, the Rec Room, and at various other locations around the resort.

Yes - there are TVs connected to antenna service in each cabin, the Kids' Clubhouse, and the Rec Room. Rokus are also available for check-out at the main desk to watch streaming TV from your personal accounts (ie Netflix).

Where can I buy groceries and sundries?

The resort has an on-site general store doing online sales. To order, visit We will arrange for carry out or delivery of your items. The store sells bait, sundries, pantry items, frozen foods, beer/wine/liquor, ice, and firewood. For your shopping convenience, Pick-n-Save and Trigs Grocery Stores are located in Eagle River, about only a fifteen minute drive from the resort. 

Does the resort have gasoline?

Yes, we do have gasoline available down by the lake for snowmobiles and boats to guests. Text or call us at 715-545-3474 for assistance.

Does POV Resort have firewood?

All firewood must be purchased on-site to ensure firewood is not contaminated with pests or diseases. We enforce all local burn bans. Please do not cut down any trees or limbs - we are trying to preserve the national forest. All our cabins and campsites have fire rings and there is firewood for sale (self-serve) at our store at the gray rec building. Each week-long cabin rental receives a complimentary bundle of firewood upon check-in. 

Can I bring a snowmobile, UTV, ATV, or trailer?

Snowmobiles, UTVs, and ATVs are welcome on the property as long as they drive on designated driveways and paths. They are to be parked in designated areas to both protect the grounds as well as the septic system. Trailers are also welcome to the property and may be parked in designated parking areas.

Is the resort snowmobile friendly?

Absolutely. We have two well-groomed trails off North Twin Lake - the Conover Phelps Trail (7.6 miles) and the Phelps Snowmobile Club Trails (40+ miles). We are directly on the trails with a barrel-marked spur to the main trail on the lake. Guests are encouraged to bring their own snowmobiles or have delivered (concierge service provided through the resort via a third party) a snowmobile rental to the property - no fuss no muss! We do ask all snowmobiles stay on driveways, are parked in designated areas, and keep to a 5mph speed limit.

Where can I rent boats, gear, snowmobiles, bikes, or ATVs?

You betcha. Rent a boat or winter rentals through POV by sending an booking inquiry through our rental page. We have pontoons and fishing boats of various capacities. Will will confirm the reservation as soon as possible.

We have also developed relationships with third-party rental companies to reserve and deliver a wide-array of additional toys for you to play with. Contact us for more information.

For ATV, Wave Runner, and Golf Cart rentals, we recommend Trackside or the Toy Shop, both in Eagle River. Both will deliver to the resort for a fee.

For snowshoe and ski rentals, we recommend Eagle Sports Center, Hikers Box, or Walkabout Paddle & Apparel in nearby Eagle River.

For snowmobile rentals, we recommend Trackside, Toy Shop, or the Boat Shop - all in Eagle River. Both will deliver to the resort for a fee. 

Where can I buy bait and sports gear?

The on-site POV General Store sells bait (leeches, nightcrawlers, and worms) - get out on the lake sooner!

Also for your shopping convenience, the Phelps Convenience store 5min away sells minnows. The Eagle Sports Center, Rick Krueger's Guide Service, and Guides Choice Pro Shop all have fishing gear and are located in Eagle River, about only a fifteen minute drive from the resort. Also in Eagle River is Wildwood Outdoors Adventure store with watercraft gear.

Do you have a launch available to the public for boats or ice fishing?

Our resort does a $20.00/day fee for public launch of either a boat or for ice fishing. Give us a call at 715-545-3474 to set up use of our launch based on availability. 

Do you guys have canoes and kayaks?

All non-motorized watercraft on the lake (canoes, kayaks, paddleboards, paddle boats) are available for guests to use for free at their own risk. Per state regulations guests are to wear life jackets, which are provided also at no-charge in the benches down at the beach. Guests are asked to return all watercraft to the staging area of the rack after use. 

Do you have boat slips available for guests?

Our resort does have its own boat launch, and each cabin comes with its own boat slip. If you choose to bring your own boat for the campgrounds or a second boat for a cabin, a $10.00/day fee for launch and slip rental is required - we have a few slips available on a first-come first-serve basis. Give us a call at 715-545-3474 to reserve and extra slip. We also allow the general public to pull up to the resort - although this is based on availability.

Where can I buy a fishing license?

The closest location you can buy a fishing license is at the Phelps Convenience Center. Visit here for more information on what they offer.

Where can I clean fish?

The resort has a fish cleaning hut near the lake for guests' use. There is no fishing cleaning allowed within any of the cabins. Fish are to be disposed at the fish cleaning station – see instructions.

Is the resort RV-friendly and have hookups?

We have purposely kept our campsites rustic to minimize disturbing the woods - we took down as few trees as possible to keep the forest intact. Camping at POV isn't typical Northwoods seclusion - our campsites are cozy but not on top of each other. We feel the amenities on-site and the beauty of the forest and surrounding area more than make up for the snug nature of the campgrounds. With this goal, there isn't enough turnaround for most RVs, travel trailers, and boat trailers in the campgrounds in this BYOTent campsites. Generators are only allowed if they have silent technology to keep the sound to a minimum for all guests of the campgrounds.

  • We allow for *SMALL* campers in Campsite 6
  • The lengths of campers in these campsites should not to exceed 25 feet (due to small turn radius)

Do the luxury tents and vintage campers have heat, light and power?

Yes - We are serious about the glam in camping at POV.

LUXURY TENTS - we have Mr. Heater Portable Heaters available for rent for a $15 flat rate for your stay. The heater comes with one 1 LB propane canister - additional canisters available for sale through our general store. Luxury tents must be ventilated during use of the heaters. A carbon monoxide detector provided with rental. The luxury tents also have LED lights provided. In addition, Power Stations are included in the rental rate - these Power Stations can charge phones, laptops, fans, COPD machines, and other low-powered appliances, etc. 

VINTAGE CAMPERS - Our vintage campers have some power to each unit to power small, low-powered appliances, lights, etc.
